All Nightmare Long

From WikiHero

All Nightmare Long is a song downloadable on Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, Guitar Hero: World Tour, and an in-game track in Guitar Hero: Metallica. It begins with a riff in D, which builds up into massive solos and riffs reminiscent of The Black Album by Metallica as well as some of their earlier material. It is also one of their latest singles from their newest album, 2008's "Death Magnetic." "All Nightmare Long" is lyrically reminiscent of Metallica's 1986 song (also the last in Guitar Hero: Metallica) "The Thing That Should Not Be," both taking lyrical elements from the writings of H.P. Lovecraft. According to an in-game "Metallifact" in GH: Metallica, Cliff Burton loved the Lovecraft works and turned James onto it, inspiring The Thing That Should Not Be, The Call of Ktulu, and, of course, All Nightmare Long.
