Robert Trujillo (born Roberto Agustín Trujillo in Santa Monica, CA, October 23, 1964) is the bassist for the thrash metal band Metallica as of February 2003 for replacing previous bassist Jason Newsted (currently on Voivod). He prefers to play a 5-string bass guitar on stage. He is in Guitar Hero: Metallica because the current line-up is of who recorded the Death Magnetic album, and Trujillo played the bass tracks for that album.
[edit] Trivia
Before he joined Metallica, Trujillo was a member of the band Suicidal Tendencies, and a session musician for Ozzy Osbourne. He took up the bass in the 2002 reissues of Ozzy's albums Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman replacing original bassist Bob Daisley, who claimed non-payment of royalties. In retaliation, Sharon Osbourne ordered his takes to be replaced by Trujillo's playing. The same happened to drummer Lee Kerslake, whose tracks were played by Mike Bordin (of Faith No More fame).
