The unnamed drummer is a recurring character in the entire Guitar Hero series. His appearance has received some minor alterations over the course of the series, but he is usually depicted as a large, brown-haired man dressed in jean shorts, a white tanktop (sky blue in GHII, and sporting the Audio-Technica logo in GHIII), and a baseball cap worn backwards (however, in GH1, he wore a headband).
The drummer is present during every performance in the Guitar Hero series, even those to which The Singer and The Bassist are conspicuously absent, including multiplayer matches and boss battles. The Drummer had also been the only drummer in the Guitar Hero series until the release of Guitar Hero: On Tour, which featured a new Drummer, with a short crop of blue hair at his hairline, a bare chest, black pants and black shoes. In Guitar Hero: World Tour and Guitar Hero: Metallica, the drummer is replaced by random people (like Matty Cannz) except for in cutscenes.
[edit] Trivia
- One of the quotes on the Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock loading screens says "I'm the drummer, I don't get paid to understand any of this!", implying that all the loading screen text is being said by the drummer.
- During one of the cutscenes in Guitar Hero III, "Hey Eddie" is playing in the background while the drummer is arguing with the singer. This probably is the name of The Singer or himself.
- In Guitar Hero World Tour the drummer, The Bassist, and The Singer appear in the intro for a couple of seconds.
- In Guitar Hero II's Career Mode, after completing Spinal Tap's "Tonight I'm Gonna Rock You Tonight", the Drummer disappears into a green puff of smoke, mimicing the movie's gag of random tragedies befall all their drummers.
