Wolfgang William Van Halen (born March 16, 1991 in Santa Monica, CA) is the current bassist for the hard rock band Van Halen. He is the youngest and newest member to the band. His father is Eddie Van Halen and his uncle is Alex Van Halen. He is the only Van Halen bassist in Guitar Hero: Van Halen, with Michael Anthony not appearing in the game. His nickname is Wolfie. He was named after Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, keeping with family naming(his fathers middle name, Lodewijk, is a Dutch language translation of Ludwig, coming from Ludwig von Beethoven).
The instrumental track "316", featured in Van Halen's 1991 album For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge, was composed by Eddie for the then-newborn Wolfgang (the title makes a reference to Wolf's birth date, 3/16).
Being just 18 years old as of the game's release date, Wolf is the youngest musician to make an appearance in the GH series altogether.
