X

X is an American punk rock band, formed in Los Angeles, CA, in 1977. Pioneer of the Californian punk scene from where bands like Dead Kennedys, Black Flag and Suicidal Tendencies would come, the band went through a hiatus period from 1993 to 2004, and is currently on tour.

The band performed the original version of the song "Los Angeles", heard on Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s, off their 1980 debut album, Los Angeles.

Other hits from the band include "White Girl", "Your Phone's Off the Hook, But You're Not", "Johny Hit and Run Paulene" and a cover version of The Doors' "Soul Kitchen". Coincidentally enough, the band is well-associated with The Doors' keyboarder Ray Manzarek, who produced X's first four studio albums.
